The ModemGard Series is MarineGard's family of advanced acoustic communication modems designed to establish reliable, intelligent, and adaptive data links underwater — where conventional RF-based systems fail. Serving as the key enablers of the Underwater Internet of Things (UIoT), ModemGard modems provide the essential infrastructure for underwater sensor networks, AUV/ROV operations, subsea monitoring, and all forms of underwater data exchange.

ModemGard Classic is the first-generation acoustic communication modem developed for reliable underwater data transmission. Operating in the 46 kHz band, it supports BPSK, QPSK, and 8-PSK modulation schemes, achieving data rates between 9.6 kbps and 28.8 kbps with a communication range exceeding 1 km under normal conditions.
Using piezoceramic transducers (140–150 dB TVR, –190 to –200 dB sensitivity) and D-class amplifiers (up to 1000 V output, 300–400 W power), ModemGard Classic delivers robust signal performance even in dynamic marine environments. It dynamically learns and adapts to underwater channel conditions, maintaining reliable communication at SNR levels as low as –10 dB, extending operational range and performance by over 50% compared to conventional PSK modems.
With user-specific adaptive symbol glossaries, ModemGard AI provides built-in encryption, noise resilience, and signal uniqueness, ensuring secure and interference-resistant operation — ideal for defense, industrial, and scientific applications.
